147-Neat Finishes Without an Overlocker

An overlocker is a wonderful tool but it's far from essential for beautifully finished garments. In this beginner-friendly workshop, we'll explore a variety of seam finishing techniques that deliver neat, durable results using nothing more than a standard sewing machine or a needle and thread. We'll cover the humble zigzag stitch, French seams, flat-felled seams, and the couture technique of hand overcasting, discussing when and why to use each method depending on your fabric and garment type. You'll leave with a handy reference sample of every technique we practise, giving you a lasting resource to refer back to on all your future dressmaking projects. This workshop requires you to be able to thread and sew a straight line on a sewing machine. All materials and full instructions will be provided in your workshop kit
